Review on UCTRONICS Raspberry 1024×600 Capacitive Touchscreen 7", Portable, HDMI, HD by Matthew Clark

Not built to last. in my view

I bought this to switch between several Raspberry PIs that usually work headless. Worked fine for about a month and a half and then stopped. Upon closer inspection, the ribbon cable connecting the circuit board to the IPS panel broke simply from the stress involved every now and then. It does a hard 180 degree twist to connect the board, which isn't great for this type of ribbon cable. It also doesn't have voltage protection on the side of the board (it's glued to the back, not the front. This unit is probably fine if you plan on putting it in one place and leaving it there, but if you're going to be walking around to move it at all, I'd look elsewhere.

Pros
  • 7 inch touch screen
Cons
  • some difficulties
