Review on 🚴 Dynaplug Racer Bike Tire Repair Tool by Bryan Maignan

If it had worked better, I would have been suspected of witchcraft.

TL;DR This is an essential tool for holes too large to deal with sealant alone. It's easier than installing a car plug and not a bad price for the convenience this product offers. I live in Honolulu and we have terrible roads and not much better bike lanes. Broken glass is common and some spikes will pierce the soles of your shoes. It's not ideal for cycling and I will change tubes every week or two even though I have the best tires I can afford. Some time ago, in a flash of inspiration, I decided to switch to tubeless. I bought this tool when I ordered tires. A smart man who runs a bike shop in Honolulu added some sealant, which lasted for six weeks of trouble-free riding. I ended up hitting something bigger and the sealant oozed out of my tire like I spilled milk on the road. Dejected, I kept spinning the tire, trying to get the sealant to do its job. Like an idiot I didn't use a fork. Mainly because I was afraid I would ruin it in the field. After stopping and using the air pump, I heard the sealant come out with a horrible hiss. It took me literally seconds to: pull the tool out of the bottle holder, open one end and insert the cork. It stopped immediately and only took a little post-processing to complete. It's been a week now and everything is fine. For the price I feel I got a good deal. The tool costs a little, but is well made and, above all, sealed and ready to use when needed. I didn't have to play with any solvents or try to manipulate the sticky little elastomer with dirty/greasy hands.

  • Cycling
Cons
