2950x is a great CPU at a much better price than the 1950x. The only complaint is that in some cases it's "not easy" to overclock to the advertised 4.4GHz single-core clock speed. In general, this chip is quite fast, very powerful and much less gluttonous than the previous generation. It works particularly well with both workstation workloads and the gaming applications you play in and single-machine streaming. Another 4.4GHz clock speed mystery: you need a good motherboard with a really strong VRM. While 1st gen TR motherboards work, it's better to use some x399 boards made specifically for ThreadRipper 2000 series processors. There are 3 factors in Ryzen Master "overclocking" software that make this System used to determine how much to overclock the chip. They all have to do with how much performance the processor can get. EDC is specifically related to how many amps the motherboard can deliver to the chip and is mostly the limiting factor. Without a really good motherboard, you need to tweak your power distribution through things like memory and power settings to allow the board to overclock other cores to make it work with a single 4.4GHz core.
