Unfortunately my first order was stolen on delivery. However, when I contacted the seller, he was very accommodating and offered to either refund my purchase or send me a replacement. I chose the latter because I urgently need a DVD player for my living room. The replacement came quickly. ATTENTION: When you first connected the player with the HDMI cable (included), nothing was visible, as if there was no signal at all. On a whim I tried to connect using a VGA cable and got a very poor signal. Thinking I had a bad block, I decided to take a look at the settings. This revealed the problem: the device's standard video signal was set to PAL (European system). After I switched to NTSC (US system), everything worked like clockwork. So if you have this player and it doesn't work, check its default settings with a VGA connection.
