Stepper motors worked perfectly. I used them in my 2003 Silverado 1500 LT. I have soldering experience so it was easy for me. I can't say it will be "easy" for a beginner, but if you have the patience, I think anyone can do it. Cleanliness is key in any soldering (use 95% alcohol or higher), soldering flux to transfer heat and limit heat up time on the board. In general, be patient. Much luck.
