This is an impressive beanie for its size and weight. 1.5 oz for SMALL Used for ultra light hiking. The band around the head is thick (3/8 inch) and has insulation between the outer and inner layers. Feels very warm. The head is single layer, which should be ideal to avoid overheating while moving. It is very soft, pleasant to the touch. High quality fleece and great construction. Definitely expect it to last. The small size is just enough to cover them: up to the base of the ears, but only a little. I measured 21.5 inches around the head. I really feel like I still want 1/2 inch of material on the neck and ears if it covers my brows, but I ordered a small one, you can order more to cover the ears. Great product, would order again, maybe try on next size.
