Fantastic Self Steering Parts

I did not use Spear it, Kevlar cable or connectors for their intended purpose. I used them for my steering gear on my sailboat. This is called leaf-to-tiller self-management. Essentially use pressure on the mainsail to steer the boat. The recommended installation method is to use surgical rubber band tubing. But I found that the boat was overloading the surgical tube, and even after additional straps were put on, the surgical tube was close to rupturing. Spearit elastic tubing is much thicker than surgical tubing but also has a linear resistance in its range compared to surgical tubing which seems to shrink to its limit. For your sailors, if you choose Spearit, also buy connectors and a Kevlar tie. The Spearit elastic is 16mm thick and cannot be bent or knotted. These details also make the work more accurate. Finally, the website is great for learning how to tie kevlar knots.
