When I turned up the volume on my Sennheiser IE4 headphones, I could hear a powerful rattling and a merging of noises. After making some changes to the equalizer that were specific to my needs, I was finally able to get rid of the issue. I made the decision to check the equalizer of the built-in sound card (Realtek ALC887): the sound is TOTALLY different even if the parameters are the same. It turned out that my decision to go into the settings was not a waste of time, as I had previously been considering sending back the sound card because the improvement is not really significant. My opinion is that it ought to be regarded as nothing more than a bridge between the built-in and the subsequent level of sound cards. I need to work on my hearing because I was unable to distinguish between mp3 and flac files.
