Review on ParkPower Marinco 25SPP RV Locking Powercord by Patrick Arnautov

Should be standard equipment!

The twistlock connector has become the industry standard in recent years. And not for nothing. The old style (through-hole drawstring) had some major flaws. Namely that there was a damn big hole in the side of your RV. Water, insects, small animals - all this penetrated inside. It is no problem to rotate the lockers. But the problem introduced is that you have a rather heavy cable pulling on its own wiring and twisting the coupler on the side of your RV. Enter the right corner of ParkPower. This is one of those innovations that makes you wonder why nobody thought of it before. If the weight of the cable is pulled straight down instead of sticking out and twisting with the fork, the cable life should be much longer. The cable itself is genuine Marinco branded with a 30Amp Hubble locking connector and threaded locking ring. This is a 10 ga weatherproof cable designed to replace 5 wheel trailers and RVs with 30 amp blocking inputs. I have a complaint. My connection is a bit loose. It doesn't move, but at the same time it doesn't twist as tightly as the original and like my 30A-15A pigtail. If the cable was tangled and twisted AND the locking ring was not properly connected to the CT, it could become loose. However, as long as the retaining ring is installed, this should not happen. And it doesn't open when it's upright, only when rotated about 30 degrees. It comes with a second retaining ring to mate with new Marinco intakes. The locking ring has a notch that fits into the rail and rotates about 1/8th of a turn, which becomes a true rotation when rotated. I haven't changed the circlips yet, but I will. I will then update.
