If you've never used Gingher's, you just don't know! These are premium fabric scissors. I have a large pair, they are over 30 years old, they are still in PERFECT condition and have never had to be sharpened (also has a lighter pair of scissors and a couple of small scissors)! I have been a fabric shop manager for several years and have made many dresses, Halloween costumes, curtains and pillowcases using these vintage scissors. The new smaller pair seems to be of the same quality so I assume the durability will be there as well. I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to using a smaller pair.
