If you only have a basic fan, you'll get a breeze and feel cooler, but it's just a breeze. This "air cooler" is simply a fan with a water tank. Any cooling is purely accidental. The concept works, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Don't waste money. I'm only giving 2 stars because the mist function works really well, but in summer you don't really need much humidity and you can't use mist without "AC" so it's pointless. Learn from my mistake.
