Very good jug, but difficult to clean

Very pleasant to use jug. You can shake it and it will not leak. A tea strainer comes in handy for adding things like oranges, orange peel (scrape off the white core first), strawberries, or anything else that floats on your boat. In my experience, four days is about as long as I can stay at a brewery. Around the fourth day, everything that's in there looks like something you don't really want in your drink. YMMV. Unscrew the top half for pouring and screw the top back on (to seal) before putting it back in the fridge β€” just in case, you know. spills and accidents. (It can often be easier to lift the lid slightly when unscrewing it.) My dishwasher uses very hot water, so I hand wash the jug to avoid possible warping. Which brings me to my only complaint; VERY DIFFICULT TO CLEAN! The screw cap was apparently designed using CAD software, using many square open cavities with many cross members to increase strength. When washing the lid, patiently insert a corner of the sponge into the corners of each of these cavities. What you don't notice at first is that the plastic O-rings under the screw top and under the pop-up brewer lid are not attached, but also have gaps and gaps. This means debris (sugar, liquid, infused bits) can get trapped in and under these pads and you can't see them. Therefore, these plastic spacers must be removed and cleaned each time the jug is cleaned. My personal view is that if I make two pots of tea a week and then store that pot in my very cold fridge, the pot just needs cleaning. every second filling. But I can't wait that long with this pot, because "things" collect in the cavities of the lid. Things like dried tea and sugar and infused chunks. Really no one reviewed this design? Enough of the cleaning effort. As I got used to the cleaning routine, I found that this is the jug I wish I had found years ago. I tossed the pitcher on the counter when it was half full and not a drop had spilled. (It's plastic, though, and if you drop it off the counter onto the floor it can generate enough explosive force to rip the screw top off. I hope I never see that.) If I'm pouring a glass of tea, I can do the whole thing shake jug. as much as I want to spread the sugar and/or infused material. And the screw-on lid allows me to store this pitcher in the fridge door without worrying about spills! Bottom line, I love this jug functionally. Functional --- 5 stars Easy to clean --- 2.5 stars
