Review on Mudder Christmas Replacement Incandescent Decoration: 🎄 Deck the Halls with Traditional Warm Glow! by Tim Cade

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Seems to work.

I tried replacing blown bulbs in a blown garland one at a time, but they burned bright very quickly and then went out. I realized that this is due to too much voltage on a lightbulb. This means that so many bulbs in a row of 36 bulbs burned out that the internal shunt wires carried current with no voltage drop. Therefore, I think that the remaining good lamps receive more voltage, and therefore current, than they rated and burn out. Thus all dead bulbs in the chain. As each lightbulb went out, the remaining ones received more and more power and died. There was another loop to my lights and some of the bulbs were still on but they all went out while I fiddled with the other loop. So I took out all the bulbs and replaced them all with these new ones. Success! Looking at the burning cord, I noticed a blown bulb among those I had replaced. There was a broken bulb in the box. As long as they look good in the lighted loop, I'll test them out. I liked them so much that I ordered 50 more for the second cycle. I'm deducting one star because of poor packaging and a blown bulb. I like warm white. I will try some LED strings, hopefully they will last longer than incandescent bulbs. If I see a blown bulb in a lighted circuit, it can be replaced. But if the whole string doesn't light up, all the bulbs are probably dead, and at the very least each bulb should be tested to see if it works before you connect the string.

Pros
  • Feature: These mini Christmas tree bulbs are designed with a short base to suit most types of lights.
Cons
  • Crumpled
