Don't light up my life

Wanted to replace 3.5 headlight. They were the same voltage but every time I tried to replace one it would short out so I now have plenty of spare bulbs but none that fit. Fuui!

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • will be added later

Isn't that tension?

First they sent them in a padded envelope. The box was broken and half the bulbs were inside the envelope. Second, they should be 3.5 volts, but I suspect they are actually 2.5 volts because they are dimmer. Not much value if they don't fit.

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • unreliable

Great product at a great price

This is my second order of these bulbs, they are great for replacing bulbs on my tree. I got a few last year to replace a large number of original bulbs that were nearing the end of their life. I ended up needing a little more after my cat fell off a tree and damaged a couple of them.

THIS IS 2.5 VOLTS, NOT 3.5 VOLTS

I relit the entire set of 35 bulbs with these bulbs and the garland is very (too) bright. I can assume it's 2.5 volts and not 3.5 volts as advertised. This is in line with complaints from other customers that the bulbs are underpowered when used as spares in 35 bulb sets - a 2.5 volt bulb rather than a proper 3.5 volt bulb is being compared typically burn weaker than other bulbs in the set. I will be setting them aside to use as spares in my 50 bulb GKI clamp base bulb sets.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

In short these bulbs work great and are most likely rated at 3.5V/0.43W as stated on the label. I changed 35 bulbs and only found 1 that didn't work so the quality is great too. The pinched base was a key ingredient for these adjustments to my existing bases. My experience has led me to believe that most people's assumption that this is the wrong voltage is due to a number of different reasons. In my case my original bulbs were 3.5V/0.70W and these bulbs were 3.5V/0.43W. So if you are sure your

Seems to work.

I tried replacing blown bulbs in a blown garland one at a time, but they burned bright very quickly and then went out. I realized that this is due to too much voltage on a lightbulb. This means that so many bulbs in a row of 36 bulbs burned out that the internal shunt wires carried current with no voltage drop. Therefore, I think that the remaining good lamps receive more voltage, and therefore current, than they rated and burn out. Thus all dead bulbs in the chain. As each lightbulb went out…

  • Feature: These mini Christmas tree bulbs are designed with a short base to suit most types of lights.
Cons
  • Crumpled

Probably 2.5, not 3.5

You know the old saying you get what you pay for? Here is such a case. I needed 3.5 volt bulbs and of course I came to Revain looking for an inexpensive replacement. This particular list looked the best. I've seen other reviewers state they got 2.5 replacements but they were in the minority so bought them. When I replaced my lightbulbs I saw that they were darker with a yellowish cast. I already had 44 new Walmart lightbulbs on the tree and was wondering if I should keep replacing them with…
