The stand is too light and the base is too narrow to stably hold a 12.9 inch iPad, especially in stage combat. Depending on the leg orientation, it won't stand up at all compared to the iPad. iPad is heavy enough to easily tip over under its own power and not hold on until you support it. Better with your foot directly in front of the iPad, but that only rotates the angle of instability 60 degrees from the front and someone could easily knock it over accidentally. Too much play in the rivet connections that hold the tripod legs together also makes the assembly wobbly. As others have noted, the spring clip requires some force to open and may not be suitable for smaller musicians. This isn't a $20 booth you'd want to grab for your $1,000 iPad Pro. Find something with a much broader base and better design. Cannot be used as intended.
