I live in a flat share and only have parquet floors in the hallway and in the kitchen and that's perfect for little space. It has a release handle to pull the vacuum to the floor so I think if you had a really big room this would be an issue and an automatic option would be better. It's very light and the lining is nice and thick but thin enough to get under the fridge stove etc and get into corners. I am very happy with this purchase and it was a great price at $21.
