My husband has cancer, is weak and loses his balance easily. I got this in hopes it would help him get into a bed higher than most. I am disappointed that it is not more stable. He grabs the handle and enters, but as he climbs onto the bed, the chair tips over. With us it only topples over until it hits the tree around the foot of our bed, so luckily it doesn't fall over, but it can still be dangerous due to its poor balance. I'm giving it 3 stars because it kind of works as intended, but I have to be there to put my foot on the stool support so it doesn't tip over when it goes to bed. If it weren't for the wooden box at the foot of our bed I'm afraid it would be more dangerous to use this step than not to use it and I wouldn't understand if you're alone as it requires someone to be in the close to be sure. it doesn't tip over.
