How To Make Perfect Eggs

Before I answer this question, I'm going to explain what's good and what's bad about this machine. It has the advantages of being easy to use (just plug it in), predictable temperatures, and very unique results. Why not use a frying pan? Well, of course one pan will do, but maybe you will smash eggs in the pan, maybe it will be difficult to turn them over, maybe it will be difficult to get the right heat, maybe you want to retire from cooking. You can also use this in the office where other cooking options are not possible. Poorly. First, the bad news is that the heat source is at the bottom of the chamber, so whatever is being cooked is done a lot more at the bottom and less at the top. There are no good guidelines on how to make a quality product, not just well cooked or "just wait for it to turn up". I really wouldn't use this for anything other than eggs or maybe eggs on an already cooked sausage stick. I don't think the results will be good for non-egg products. But eggs can be perfect. Here is the recipe: - Allow the unit to heat up until the green light comes on - Crack 2 eggs into the cavity - Set the timer for 5:30 (5 minutes 30 seconds) - When the timer reaches 1 minute (4:30 ) reached passed), cover with foil or a small saucepan lid. One of the best options is the "Teacup Box". This changes the way the device works. Since the unit will shut off when the set heating temperature is reached, covering the lid essentially prevents the bottom of the chamber from heating up, but now the top gets hot due to trapped heat. This allows the eggs on top to finish cooking without overcooking the bottom egg.- When the full 5:30 is reached, turn the implement upside down and crack it on the bottom implement, the egg comes out on the plate. The eggs will be perfectly medium sized. If you want them softer or harder, decrease or increase the total time but still cover the last minute. So the big advantage of this device is the predictable heat and time. Once you find the time to cook your eggs exactly how you like them, you'll never have to worry about overcooking or undercooking again. When your eggs are ready at 4:37, reheat, toss the eggs and cover at the last minute. Easy. I think if they included healthy recipes people would have a lot more success. Note that in the "cookbook" they refer to foods as appearing alone, and eggs sometimes do. but it's unpredictable. It depends on the oil you use (how much and type), the type of eggs (whole, beaten, etc.), and just plain luck. But usually waiting for the egg to swim results in a hard egg of unknown readiness. That is unnecessary. Find a time that works for your eggs and get it right every time.
