This unit has great reviews so I'm not sure I got a bad one but its accuracy sucks. It has been listed as 97.7 multiple times over the course of several days for 4 different people, although 2 of those 4 had confirmed temps over 100 leading to quarantine giving me time to try this thing out as many times. It's almost like a scam. They didn't even put a sensor in, they just programmed the little display to read 97.7 every time you press the button, no matter what it's pointing to. In fact, on the third day of quarantine, I was shocked when it returned a slightly higher score of 98.4! The relief of seeing a different temperature from this one was short-lived when I realized that this thermometer was now reading a higher temperature than the oral thermometer reading, showing that we had indeed beaten the fever and we temperature again. TLDR: when he read someone with a fever of 100+, confirmed by Dr. Visit. It showed 97.7 for 3 days with no problems. After the fever subsided and dropped to 97.9, this thermometer actually showed an elevated reading of 98.4. So I'm glad it seems to have worked so well for so many, but mine has about the same scientific accuracy as the magic bullet-8 and is being returned. once my quarantine is over.
