The compaction pad is made of a cutting board like material. The clamps that come with it hold it to the gasket well, but vibration will loosen it over time, so you'll need to tighten it periodically. The pad leaves no marks on the pavers and very few pavers break during the compaction process. The gasket material does thin out a little at the pivot point and I'm a bit concerned that it will crack at the pivot over time, but after the first application it's holding up well.
- Accessory Tool Kit: Vibratory Plate Rammer, fitted with two C-Clamps for attachment, secures the base plate to the underside of the compactor for proper, quick and easy installation and replacement.
