I have a glass desk and needed a monitor stand that matched the material. I wasn't sure if the stand would be too high as I'm a small woman and my risers need to be lower than most people's. When I opened the packaging, I was pleased to find that the color and thickness of the glass matched my table perfectly. The chrome risers matched my other accents. The stand may appear flimsy, but over the year it has proven to be very durable and functional. I like that I can easily see everything on and below it. It also doesn't take up any space on my desk. I feel like I have more room even though it takes up as much space as any riser. Lift height is good. I was fortunate that my new monitor had a smaller stand than my previous model and the new glass stand and monitor paired with the perfect height for me. The only downside is that the electronic cables are difficult to hide. All cables are visible from behind. I try to redirect them to make them less visible, but the riser is clear glass. There's only so much I can do about it. So if you're considering one of these, remember that it doesn't offer a place to hide cables like an opaque riser. For me personally, the benefits outweigh this issue. I'm glad I bought this riser and continue to use it.
