My boys love it - good ingredients, no peas or pea derivatives

Good news - my boys seem to love this food. I'm still in the transition phase, up to 50/50 on old food, and have noticed that they both shove food into their bowl to eat chunks first. Good sign. The ingredient list is very good and does not include any of the ingredients that the FDA believes may cause cardiomyopathy in dogs and cats of both susceptible breeds and, to a lesser extent, non-susceptible breeds. a lot of research on the current problem (quantitative work for epidemiologists). The FDA shows a link with peas. I do not think so. I'm pretty sure they're powders of pea derivatives like (as shown on the labels) pea protein, pea fiber, dried pea extract). These are protein extracts from peas that when used increase the nominal protein content in products. You will not find any pea food for dogs that does not contain pea powder. at least not in the few hundred I analyzed. Why am I assuming powder? Most pea powders in the US are imported, manufactured and sold by Chinese companies. Several American companies sell powder. that you bought in China. There were two major scandals in China when they covered powdered protein products. in one they added melamine to infant formula powders. Melamine is considered a protein, but it's pretty darn toxic. Killed Babies. There was a separate scandal where melamine was added to powdered proteins used in the manufacture of pet food, killing many pets. So. fool us twice, shame on us. To be on the safe side, I looked for products WITHOUT pea derivatives, as my breed of dog has a certain predisposition to cardiomyopathy. This feed contains no pea derivatives (or peas themselves). I'm pretty sure it's not melamine this time, it's something else. (I got a call from the FDA to come over after sending them a letter, so maybe I caught something.) For a distributor. You need to SERIOUSLY talk to Revane. You simply place the bag in a box and seal all the seams with a strip of tape. NOT ENOUGH. My bag of dog food came by itself, next to it was a box that was completely open at all seams. Bless UPS for keeping the pieces together. Revain doesn't know how to deliver heavy stuff, this is the 6th or 7th delivery where the product I ordered was delivered next to a broken box.
