Until I get into that, the collar fabric is nothing special. However, the electronics from the box to the remote are amazing. I even tried a very expensive collar because I decided that if this works so well, it's obvious that the collar is twice the price - WRONG. There is something about this collar with its beep/vibrate function that my German Shepherd reacts to immediately. With an expensive collar, even electrocution RARELY went through their coat as they have thicker necks. This one never let me down, no matter how much we took an interest in squirrels or frisbee-golf-frisbee while we went for a walk. I had to use glue and eventually a lighter to hold the fabric together, but after finding a $5 choker that worked great I'm 100% satisfied. TO UPDATE. My dog liked it so much that she took the remote control and installed it. on my lap when she wanted to work out and go out and do tricks and get treats. Well, last time she got a little too excited (lesson learned) and chewed really hard before putting it down. I tried my best to fix the remote for a couple of weeks and finally it stopped bothering me. This company IMMEDIATELY sent me another remote control and in one fell swoop created a customer for life! If only I could recommend something for future releases. I would say thicker fabric. I love the light up feature on some collars, especially for people like me who walk their dog around 5:30am when it's still dark, or for those who walk late at night. A lock function would be great for pocket use (although you can also just flip the switch on the side).
