We recently switched from a local ISP to Verizon Fios, which in turn has replaced Comcast. We were sold at a great Fios monthly price, with no contract and the promise of a huge speed boost. Neither the seller nor the installer warned us that Fios would overload our old Apple Air Port Router and we would need a new one. After we figured this out, a Verizon rep wanted to sell me a new Verizon-approved router for $300 or rent it for $15 a month. Corresponding with him, I checked what was available on Revain and this router popped up for $90. The reviews convinced me that this was the way to go, and they were right. Installation was easy and as mad as I was about Fios the speed was amazing on all of our devices. I can't think of anything better than a $300 router to be worth the extra cost. I just want to add one tip that didn't catch my eye in the reviews below. When you're done installing, you'll probably want to change the network name and password listed on the router's page. Sign in to your Verizon Internet account and follow the network management instructions to make changes. It's pretty easy.
