I love this Hook Road hood lifter! The installation took about 30 minutes. I had to watch a YouTube video to figure it out because the instructions' diagram isn't the best. I just followed and paused the videos at each step and they installed in no time! I hate kickstands and that also opens the hood higher than the kickstand. Installed on a 2018 Wrangler Sport JK Unlimited.

Works great on a stock car, not so much on aftermarket parts. I had to move the fuse box to the left side. I couldn't install the passenger side because my pipe was hitting the top bracket. Secondly, on the part cut out for the airbox, the top bracket should be attached. I got it working on one and it's still pretty smooth for the price. Tighten all bottom bracket bolts. Before installing in the car, the instruction is quite small.

Easy to install and works great. I had to modify the driver's side bottom bracket by cutting a 1/4" slot to thread and re-insert my fork compressor mount. No wonder if you have spare parts. Overall I was impressed with the quality of the braces and they were easy to adjust. Bought this kit at the recommendation of a Jeeper supporter and would also recommend it to anyone with an upscale Jeep. It's very nice to be able to just open the hood without messing around with the quill brace.

My wife installed it herself in about 2 hours yesterday. The only help she needed was at the end of the build. She liked the directions and was able to figure everything out easily. It's a lot easier than a support bar and I agree with the other reviewer who said it's factory made. Can't say anything about durability yet as we just installed it. Our hood is heavier than most because it's lined. They are much easier to install than I expected and lift the hood with little effort. Does not crash into position when booting up. Does not attempt to take off by itself once you release the secondary hood latch. Easy to lower and lock in position. Hood lift brackets are ideal for those who work with Jeep Wranglers. I often work on oil changes and various maintenance jobs and I find it extremely convenient when I open the hood. My only problem was buying from amazon warehouse it was no installation guide. I watched a few videos on YouTube and found that they are basically no-drill Rugged Ridge type braces. (CJ Off-Road has a good video for them, and RobMotionJT has an installation video that's pretty much the same for JL's RedLine racks.) at the top and part of the strut/strut at the bottom. I like the finished product. The brackets are made from thick, powder-coated steel and seem strong enough to last. The installation instructions could have been a bit clearer regarding the hood mounted brackets. It depends on the side, but the instructions don't specify which side is which.
