Review on SAMSUNG 4K UHD Tilt Adjustable Curved Computer Monitor LU32R590CWNXZA, 31.5" DIsplay, Flicker-Free & Blue Light Filter, Borderless Design by Maxwell Jenkins

Revainrating 1 out of 5

good not great in my rating.

First of all, 1 star is removed because the carriers you chose lie about shipping and then don't deliver to my actual address, forcing me to lift heavy boxes up 3 flights of stairs. Haulers have carts and stuff for them, I don't, so I'll remove the star until you have control of your Haulers. 1 star removed, bcz I tried to cancel this before it was sent but I received an email saying it was too late to cancel but it wasn't actually sent until 30 hours later. Well done guys, keep it up. 1 star deducted for shipping a $400.00 item in a giant box without a single piece of bubble wrap. If I had the strength, I would pack everything up and send it back. All my packages from amazon in the last 2 weeks arrived with almost no bubbles and I am buying parts for a VR computer so around 3500.00 via 3 online shops and 4 different carriers, all arrived in broken boxes at the wrong place with no protection . That's your job. why is it difficult So you just lost 60% of your rankings due to avoidable things that are constantly present in your supply chain. Amazon has been getting worse and worse since it became just another E-Bay with shady sellers and wildly inconsistent prices and shipping. Your usefulness ends and ends when the main video is no better than free YouTube, your products are worth the price, and your shipping methods screw up. Now to the monitor. I have to keep making shooting stars, but I will still have disadvantages. First the bezel "without”. There is a branded lower bezel as well as 1/8 inch dead space. The other 3 sides have 1/4" dead space. So you effectively have an internal frame with unusable screen real estate that still takes up the space that a monitor takes up that doesn't lose an inch. Next comes the display port. It has 1 display port .I've read reviews where this wasn't the case and that was the reason for my cancellation request.well it's not a scale really why don't you turn it on seems deliberately cheap.Anyway as far as DP goes, I don't know if Samsung updated this model to include it, or if previous reviewers took the bait and switched to a different model (this also happens here on Amazon, just look at some 'updated' listings goods) or just didn't. recognize the connector, because in the dark it looks like hdmi, and it's dark in the area where the cable is attached. anyway you get one now. just one. version 1.2 without Scale. You know it's daunting since Vesa compatibility has become almost ubiquitous. so it was a choice. a choice made by someone unrelated to today's home and home computing. It's one thing not to include a Vesa if you want to give us a stand with lots of movement, stability, and good materials. Instead, you get a cheap tubular frame and about 5 degrees of up and down motion with no lateral movement. I believe the frame is so cheap because they considered the weight and design of the monitor to keep it stable. he is marginally successful in this, but only through the use of a large amount of workspace. The controls are a joke. I like the joystick-style navigation on the power button, which doubles as a way to navigate menus. However, you do get contrast, brightness and volume. Oh yes, that's all. why menu? Documentation/packages - you get a lot of useless information, like a warning not to pour water on it, but no product specification, which I immediately looked for to put an end to the displayport. no badge on the case, no stickers of any kind, no cleaning cloth, no displayport cable. nothing. Sorry, you're getting a cheap 6" HDMI cable and a typical power cord. Color. when i plugged it in i had the typical hd settings on my ben-q ips. So I immediately got a popup warning about it. As soon as I changed it to 4k settings it filled my screen but turned blurry grey. Even now, at 100 brightness, Amazon Blue's top navigation bar looks muted and washed out. The white area I'm typing in looks dirty gray. There are no on-screen controls to change this. Of course, you can use Windows to calibrate, which is what I just spent time doing in this review. I set the brightness to 50, although it looks like typing on a sports sock, I went through the process only to find in the end that nothing had changed at all. except that my brightness slider was reset to zero, which gave me the ability to increase the overall brightness above the previous maximum. Welcome because now I can see but the colors are still washed out. There were some good deals on Cyber Monday and there are screens from AOC and even LG that I had to try. But I have a lot of Samsung stuff and I'm usually happy, so I went with this one. At the new price of 500.00 I would have laughed at you when you packed it up and sent it back. At the 399.00 I paid I feel raw at around 150.00. these are the monitor tips 250.00. Too much competition, good competition for Samsung to put out this giant box, pffft. connected to every machine I use every day. skip it. People will say it's the cheapest 4k so go for it. But the pale colors, lack of Vesa, simplified controls, and gargantuan size on your desk make it a solid choice. I haven't even tried watching anything in 4k but because it doesn't make the web browsing look good and I'm too tired to bother any more with this junk. oh i forgot the cable management. Imagine the cheapest and thinnest plastic, then make it thinner and it's your back panel covering the area where the stand screws to the screen and providing a hidden channel to carry power, DP and HDMI -lead cables up to table height. This requires careful thought, as a previous reviewer ranted about cables falling out. Well yes, the HDMI slot is too wide and will fall out over time, as will the power cord. However, you can roll and bend the wires until you can apply an upward force to hold them in place. no need for tape or glue. It takes time because you don't have a lot of room to work with and you don't have a lot of room to wrap a few inches of cord in there. Fisher Price's backplate isn't strong enough to hold if you could. This was an apparent design flaw that had to be discovered and corrected during product testing. Recessed side ports with USB 3.0, 2 or 3 would be a nice addition and one that encompasses most of the competition, so once again I have to scratch my head as to why Samsung hasn't included these features. After writing this I have to go back and take off another star for the quality of the product. I hate 1 star reviews but Samsung and Amazon deserve it.

Pros
  • Great monitor, great price
