Review on VCT Rear Axle Bearing Removal Tool Kit with Slide Hammer Set - Effortlessly Remove Semi-Floating Axle Bearings by Josh Schaefer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for removing bearings!

This kit was used to remove the rear wheel/axle bearings on a 2002 Ford Expedition with a 9.75 rear triangle. Between them and the slide hammer, the old bearings were quickly removed. Definitely worth the money. They appear to be quite durable so should hold up well to repeated use.

Pros
  • EASY TO USE: Slide the flat end of the puller through the center of the bearing and press against the back, then slide the washer in the center of the shaft down to the front of the bearing and tighten the nut on the smaller end of the puller, then screw on the slide hammer. (not included) to the puller and move the hammer back and forth until the bearing comes out; The washer holds the bearing in place, spreading the applied force over the entire bearing and preventing damage to it.
Cons
  • Faulty
