Great scanner for the money! This is a huge update for my old Innova 3160 OBD 2 code scanner. I have already had 2 sets of batteries leaking in my Innova 3160. I tried unsoldering one of the battery contact wires on the circuit board, but that one solder pad didn't melt! The metal almost looks welded on. In any case, this Autel doesn't have an internal battery like my Innova, which I consider a plus! No more alkali leakage. This Autel uses an SD card. I haven't used all the features of this scanner yet, but I'm happy with the basics. It doesn't just scan the ECU. He scanned both the transmission control unit and the body control unit. I'm giving 4 stars out of 5 because it's a little harder to use than my old Innova (which I still use and use) and is a lot slower. because it performs all scans (transmission and body control units as well as ABS). I use about 50% of its features, so I'll come back and update this review when I get the hang of it. Update October 1st 2015 I finally got around to updating the software in the device. I followed Mr Warner's suggestions in a previous Revain review here. Follow it to "t" and you'll get your device with the latest and greatest software. The only downside is that Autel only allows free upgrades for 1 year. After that you have to pay. I don't know how much and I'm afraid to look. I kept the operating instructions in the lid of the supplied plastic case. I used two plastic tabs attached with a screw to rotate and hold the manual on the inside of the lid. No more guidance on the way!
