I have to start this review by saying that this is an excellent quality collar. The only problem is that if your dog's neck isn't the ideal size for a collar, the excess length extends beyond the wrist strap and can be uncomfortable for the dog, much like wearing a strap that's too long. Collar only, there is no pant loop to hold excess belt material. I bought a medium size for our sheltie (miniature collie) who weighs about 49 pounds. She usually wears a medium size but this collar is a bit too big so the excess goes about 3 inches beyond the collar attachment loop, sometimes snagging on the leash when we take her for a walk and sometimes interfering with her resting position. I'm pretty sure a size small would be too small judging by the sizing in the product description. We still like the collar as it is quite nice and high quality. I'm tempted to trim off any excess but I'm afraid the stitching will unravel. So let's just take care of it - it's not really a big deal, but buyers should be aware that they may not get a perfect fit, like typical nylon collars that are adjustable without the added clap. vicinity.
