Bought these for two porch rails, put in batteries, went through many settings and settled on steady on. I forgot to turn them off before bed and figured the batteries died overnight. BUT! So you have a mysterious unmentioned timer? They reappeared the next day and the next evening. I don't know when they turn off because it happens after we go to bed but they really enjoy it and then come back the next night. They've only had them for a week or so, but were still running on the original batteries and enjoying a mysterious timer feature that's not mentioned anywhere. As long as they turn on and off at the appropriate time, I'll consider this a little Christmas miracle and go about my business. I ordered and received warm white (see some other reviews that mentioned the wrong color). These are handy little touches for my porch with no outlets and I really like them.
