Haven't had a tripod in years (lost in motion), had old tripods from 30 years ago that probably weighed 5-10 pounds but easily fit on a large lens DSLR on a windy day. It's not one of them. But it's functional and more than enough for holding the phone or point-and-shoot, although I wouldn't count on it getting up on a windy day. And I wouldn't put a Β£5 camera and lens on it. (If you can afford a $2,000 camera, why would you buy a $20 tripod?) The legs have 4 extensions and when you take them off they feel incredibly flimsy (how can that hold the camera ?), but when you attach the clamp, the legs get pretty stiff, even when fully extended. And it has most of the movements (up/down) like a regular heavy tripod, only smaller and slimmer. But it works.
