I have installed similar foot rests/dead pedals on other cars but with a different installation method. I have to say I was a bit skeptical about this installation/assembly method. The description says it fits my car, a Mercedes Benz C300 (W204), but the footrest in this car is carpeted so the thought of double sided tape holding it in place doesn't seem too logical. I felt that for my application I had to be sure that it would stay. I drilled 4 holes and countersunk them. I took a glass head, #6 x 3/4 screws to mount it more securely. The tape on the back is quite sticky but I found that if you try to remove the backing from the tape you can easily remove the tape from the pedal as it was stuck to the rubber on the back. You have to be careful not to do this, but it's difficult because the tape backing doesn't peel off easily. I aligned the pedal where I wanted and used tape to secure it, then installed 4 screws. I think the tape would hold, maybe not forever, but now screws aren't going anywhere. On other cars with plastic footpegs, duct tape will work I think. All in all, it's a good item to decorate your car's interior. It's a nice addition and it's a quality item, especially for the price.
