We bought this because we liked the scratch pad because it doesn't emit particles when a cat scratches a pole. However, it is very light and when our cat jumps on it, it moves across the hard wooden floor. Also the part of the tower where the hammock lies is already separated from the pole. Our cat is 20 pounds and this is definitely not intended for heavier cats. Overall the tower looks good and the scratching post is great but not ideal for large cats.
