I hate floral and fruity shampoos. You're giving me a headache. It's not like that at all. It's more of an earthy patchouli scent from the 70's, but not overpowering. It also lathers well with just one swipe of the product. It doesn't dry out my hair and my colorist says it's safe to use. I've also used the regular version of the product (Tea Tree Specialty Shampoo) - the one that doesn't contain lavender mint - and it has a stronger tea tree scent, a more medicinal smell, and also seems to cause tingling on the head. more after use. Those aren't bad things - they're just different from this product. However, the original version dries my hair out more than this one. If you like earthy scents and have dry or damaged hair, choose the Lavender Mint Moisturizing version instead of the original. Oh, and I received a real product. I think people might be confused that Paul Mitchell's logo is not on the label, but it is sold under their Tea Tree logo, not the Paul Mitchell logo.
