I have an alaskan malamute whose stool twice a day will probably weigh over a pound each. (And he usually poops as he walks, so the full bag bounces in my hand until we get to the bin.) Walking the dogs and carrying a plastic bag is a liability, even if the bag was completely opaque. The only downside is that these things are almost impossible to open when they get wet (sweat, rain, machine wash, etc.). Where other bags can withstand a full wash and dry cycle and come out wide open but otherwise wear out just as well, these will shrink. So for travel and casual trips I usually keep them in a dispenser rather than my bags, and I keep a roll of green bags in my pantry that I can fold up and carry in my bag for runs and hikes.
