I have a gas fireplace and a water heater. I have smelled gas several times in different houses I have stayed in. This gauge brings a lot of peace of mind and I love seeing the concentration of natural gas in my home (it reads 0% in normal operation). both in the original Gas Knight and in version 2.0 with a numeric display of the gas concentration. I prefer the looks of the 2.0 version and the long cable that comes with it, but the sensor only lasts 3 years while the original has a 5 year sensor life. The 1.0 version screams "warm up" for a few minutes when you first plug it in (or the power goes out and comes back), while the 2.0 version just shows a countdown on the screen to let you know when it's done. .I had a broken alarm clock and Jim from Customer Service was quick to replace it. Good service!
