This lathe is fun to work with, but not as powerful as I would like. I bought this to make simple handles for small sculpting tools and it does the job for me and is fun to use. But if you use it, you will feel the disadvantages of a cheaper product, so be prepared. Edited: Tried playing with it again. A cheap drill designed to hold and rotate your stuff is complete crap and rotates with no real effort, your piece of wood just stands still and the chuck keeps working.
