Review on πŸ’§ Electric Water Pump - Shurflo 4048153E75 by Brad Lovro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great pump replaces the same mounting holes at 5.7 GPM.

I bought this pump because it is a direct replacement for the Shurflo 5.7 GPM. This list of 4 GPM models. I installed it on a horse trailer water tank that allows you to hose down your horse and it works well for that much water flow. The manual recommends 1/2" hoses, so I removed all the smaller 3/8" hoses and fittings and replaced them with 1/2" hoses. I have black sprinkler fittings with a 1/2" thread on one side and one 1/2" male thread to insert into the new hose to connect to the tank and one for the hose bib. I also replaced the 15 amp fuse holder with #12 wire and changed all the wiring to #12, as this is the pump manufacturer's recommendation. After installation the pump worked fine but would not turn off. This was because the bypass valve pressure was set too low. It says in the manual but I don't identify the valve adjustment screws. They provide this with a very small hex wrench on the side of the pump The pressure valve has been set too high, this is the second small adjustment with a hex wrench where the blue wire with de r sleeve connects. First I turned the bypass valve, the one without the wire, clockwise, the screw makes about 2 full turns to increase the pressure setting, and then turned the blue wire pressure valve with the sleeve counter-clockwise. The pump shut down and everything worked. If the pump shuts off too often when water is flowing, simply turn the pressure valve clockwise 1/4 turn. The old pump did not have such control valves.
