I can't tell if it protects my computer if it falls, but it latches well and looks pretty when it's cold. It's just heavy and the screen can't stay in place even at certain angles. Although this will not be a problem for most people. To clarify, sometimes I'm sitting in weird positions and my laptop is on my lap or tilted at a certain angle, and without the case the screen usually stays in place at any angle. However, due to the weight of the case, the screen sometimes sags under gravity, which can be annoying because I have to constantly readjust it. I don't think this will be a problem for most people, but if you like holding your computer in odd positions, this might not be for you.
