Installing this mechanism was the first time for me. The watch is not antique or valuable but was an anniversary gift from my husband over 40 years ago so it means a lot to me. Installation was easy, just follow the instructions. As others have written, the hardest part was synchronizing the bell with the movement. I followed the instructions and set the clock to 6:00 am. After that I got lost. After several tries, I decided to set the current time the way I did with the old mechanism. From the front, I manually moved the minute hand clockwise around the dial, stopping at 12 each time to allow the bell to cycle through the entire song and countdown. It was 5:04 PM, so I paused to count to five, then moved the minute hand so the clock read 5:04 AM. I used the Westminster bells which only chime at one o'clock. The sound is better than I expected. The time and chime are accurate so far and it's nice to have my old clock working again!
