Review on Stainless Extruder Ceramic Crowded Decorating by Wendy Rodriguez

Much better than Syrine style

I bought a syringe extruder that requires you to manually push the plunger to push the clay out. It took too much strength and my hands hurt so much that it was difficult to do anything. Then I see someone on YouTube using this type of extruder. Holy Crucian! All you have to do is turn the handle and you will extrude the clay. The plunger is threaded so you can apply more force when turning it than just pushing it (physics in action). It is much easier. There is an O-ring around the piston to help to scrape the clay from the inside of the pipe. My other didn't have this, so I spent more time cleaning it than using it. Sometimes some clay gets into the o-ring, but you can scrape it off with your fingernail. So skinny that I came up with the idea of making a talisman: a bowl of spaghetti. However, stamps have a downside: they are flat, so it's a bit harder to separate the clay smoothly. I would have liked them to be slightly curved so they sit flush with the edge of the extruder body, making clay cutting easier. A minor annoyance, sure, but it can make a great product great. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. However, stamps have a downside: they are flat, so it's a bit harder to separate the clay smoothly. Pros
  • Rotating design, very energy saving. Easy to use, can be disassembled into three parts, easy to clean with soap and water.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Wife loved this small extruder for her pottery projects.
