We bought 2 rose gold and 2 gold microphones. For some reason, the volume of music and speech is noticeably higher with gold microphones. If you use the pink mics separately from the gold ones it's not that noticeable, but the gold mics definitely stood out and overshadowed the pink mics when the kids were using all 4 mics at once. Should there be a slight difference in the hardware? Not sure about the status of other colors. At the same time, all these microphones are well assembled, have a cool case with accessories, even adults had fun with them at the Christmas party. We've found that the easiest way is to find a song on YouTube with lyrics and play it on a TV, and just have all the kids use the mic and the lights-only feature and play the music through the TV instead of the play microphones. However, we also did this on mobile devices, but we could only connect music via Bluetooth to one microphone at a time. For one person, this is the easiest option, but for two, only one kid mic plays music and all kids want that mic. You can probably work around this if you want to tinker with it, IDK. Excellent quality karaoke toy, glad we bought it. Lots of fun, looks like they are built to last. Just take a look.
