Very nice dark blue backpack with light blue accents on the zipper and logo patch. There are backpacks with the LL Bean monogram, but this one only has the Sun Eight logo on it, which makes me think of Pac Sun. The fabric is a waterproof polyester that protects the contents if the child is caught in a sudden downpour. The zippers are synthetic, but slide perfectly without having to "treat" them with graphite. The zippers are metal, 1-1/2" long and easy to grab. The other hardware, the buckle, is made of durable, high-impact plastic. There is a simple metal ring on the front for you to attach a keychain. The backpack is quite well balanced and if there are a lot of books in the backpack it will be comfortable.Padded shoulder straps are lined with canvas and breathable mesh.There is space for a water bottle on the sides.I put one inside and it stayed light since the top is stretchy. The 1" loop straps at the top, as well as the other straps, are decent nylon straps that are sewn in so they won't tear. The interior of the backpack is divided in two and the lining is nylon. It has plenty of compartments for everything every kid needs want to carry.It's big enough for a small laptop and other items.The quality is very good,which is what you need in any school backpack.I have in mine Bought many school backpacks over the years including several from LL Bean and this one has the quality and looks that a boy or girl will love.
