I should have given the other reviewers more weight - they are SMALL! It seems there are way more than 500 pieces but you won't catch me for these little things - Ha! Ha! I'll just take her word for it! I bought these to wear on the back of my regular earrings as a 'cushion', a spare (on some) and/or a 'stud'. They work well for this purpose as they are very secure. I don't make my own jewelry so I can't comment on how they would work for this purpose but I imagine they would work for all types of earrings, from studs to pendants to children's earrings would work well. , they fit everyone and are very safe. They're soft but durable (if that makes any sense at all) made of silicone-like material. I would recommend them for any of the above purposes, just be prepared for hands and good eyesight because these kids will desert you fast!
