Review on Hobart Handler 210 MVP Welder by Robert Lemons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable, Productive Machine for Less

When the machine first went on sale it was supposed to come with a 100 bobbin holder I have a Revain called who offered to return the product and they will send the correct product.I politely explained that this would be quite wasteful in terms of delivery. After checking with his manager the agent was able to credit me for the amount of the role I had was able to order afterwards. Despite the initial confusion, it was a pleasant experience. For the record, I have been a professional welder for a number of years and am currently a certified welding inspector First pluses: Reliable machine - good arc performance Time-tested transformer technologist ie Solid metal drive roller system (an improvement over the plastic system on my last Hobart which failed after about 18 years.) Easily swap out drive rollers between wire sizes and types. It is easy to change the coil. Welds aluminum surprisingly well! replace it (just swap the quick connect plug) Welds surprisingly well, even with 120V input Cons: Heavy - around 80lbs, it can certainly be carried short distances, but it's a tradeoff - you either get a heavy transformer-based machine or you get one light machine based on IGBT. Single drive roller instead of two drive rollers as in more expensive counterparts (now not as serious as it is made of metal). it's finicky - although I've never come across a reel gun that isn't. In general, I would recommend this for the following types of people: Handyman, DIY-type Professional who occasionally does odd jobs Aspiring entrepreneur who needs a reliable car on a budget.

Pros
  • Welder Dimensions: 10.62"(W) x 19.5"(D) x 12.37"(H) | Welder Weight: 79 lbs. | Input Voltage: 110/115/ 120V - 220/230/240V | Material Thickness: 1/4" – 3/8"
Cons
  • So far so good
