Review on πŸ–₯️ WIMAXIT Portable 10.1" Raspberry Touchscreen Monitor - M1012, IPS, 1024X600 Resolution, Built-In Speakers by Troy Harlan

Great Raspberry Pi display for dashboards/custom projects!

I've tried WIMAXIT 7 inch Raspberry Pi touchscreen before, but I didn't like it because of its small size. This 10.1 incher is definitely more comfortable and pleasant for many tasks. First, let's start with the screen quality. Screen quality is ok, nothing special. Unfortunately it's not 1080p, but at this screen size that's not a problem as the screen still looks reasonably sharp. The touch feels good and responsive most of the time. When it comes to this screen and the Raspberry Pi 4 I would say that overall it works well. The Raspberry Pi 4 attaches to the back of the screen with the included screws and sits snugly on the back. The kit also includes small micro HDMI to HDMI adapters for the Pi4 and HDMI to HDMI adapters for the Pi3. It also comes with a micro USB to USB adapter for touch control and power delivery. Unfortunately, this adapter broke, but that could have been my own fault and not WIMAXIT's fault. The screen still works for me even though I broke it because the screen also comes with longer cables. The screen only gets a little dirtier with cables but still works well. I've encountered a few bugs where the Raspberry Pi OS wasn't showing up on screen with the included micro HDMI to HDMI adapters. I just got "No Signal". I ended up just using the longer micro HDMI cable that came with it and it worked fine. Again, this was a bit messier, but it still worked. It looks like others haven't had this issue, so it might have been a screen related issue I was getting. Overall the Raspberry Pi 4 works well with this screen, but I probably wouldn't recommend this screen to those of you. I want to collect a tablet. The Raspberry Pi OS isn't really designed for touch, so using this screen without an external mouse and keyboard can sometimes be difficult. I would recommend this screen more to those of you looking to turn your Raspberry Pi 4 into a home dashboard or something similar. Just the right size for a home dashboard or custom project, this screen fits perfectly on a desk with a rear-mounted Raspberry Pi.
