Poor sound reproduction, especially at high volume

I installed this in my car to play sound from my ICOM IC-7100 ham radio transceiver. I've had him there for almost 2 years now. I just noticed that the Audio Speech feature, which talked about S-Unit levels, frequency and a few other things, only sounded good at low audio levels. When I turned on the audio, it was very distorted. Before that, I was wondering why sometimes the voices of the operators of other stations are not very clear. Sometimes I had trouble understanding call signs. now i know why I do not recommend this device. I replaced it with an MFJ-280 speaker which works great at all ICOM volumes.
