I bought 3mm. I ended up returning these earrings to get exactly the same ones, only with a butterfly, from the same company. The quality is excellent, the earrings are perfect in size and appearance for my second hole. I sent it back because of the screwed back. I hated them and never had such a problem with earrings. This could be because the earring itself was small, making it difficult to hold while trying to screw the back. When I finally put it on it felt too tight for me as I wasn't sure how far to screw it in to avoid losing my back. As you can see from the photo, the earrings are well packaged. Overall I was impressed with the quality, they just didn't work for me.
