Review on πŸšͺ White PetSafe Magnetic Key 4-Way Locking Cat Door for Exterior/Interior by Cindy Lloyd

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The unlocking mechanism is poorly placed

This door has two main disadvantages.1. The collar magnet should be close enough to the tunnel floor for the trigger mechanism to work, so none of my three cats who previously had a non-locking cat flap could get used to going through the flap with their heads down. enough to unlock it. The cat should basically put its chin on the bottom of the tunnel, and then the door still can't open (see disadvantage #2).2. You can work around mistake #1 by disabling the lock by placing a strong flat disc magnet on the tunnel floor. But even with the lock disabled, the door only opens about 50% of the time. If you can teach your cats to push right above the red latch lever, the success rate will increase, maybe as high as 90%, but they will have to learn how to push the door multiple times each time they want to enter. If you're worried about other animals getting in, buy a working cat door and put a big piece of Lexan inside that you can stick in the window, then put a cabinet or high table on each side for the cats have something to stand on while they stand. they happen. This is fairly safe for raccoons since raccoons climb, not jump, and my experience and that of others in my community is that neighborhood cats don't want to enter your animals' burrows through a tiny opening that exposes them to a sudden attack. all the animals are already inside.
