I bought this flash for my Sony Alpha DSLR-A500 and it itself is not compatible because of the multi interface shoe which is not on my older camera. In order to use this flash I had to buy a Sony ADPAMA adapter. To find out, it took a little research before buying. The flash works well with the adapter, but not all features are supported. Most flash configurations are disabled when the flash is attached to the camera. For example, the flash compensation setting is controlled on the camera itself and cannot be controlled on the flash. This is most likely not the case with newer cameras that actually have a multi-interface shoe. After a few minutes of research, I managed to work around the interface incompatibility. What the flash produces is amazing. I rotated it so that the light bounced off the ceiling and walls and immediately noticed that the images are clear and saturated, and most importantly, there are no shadows. Nothing more to say; My pictures are getting better than ever. This flash runs on 4 AA batteries and I've found my camera's battery lasts much longer because I don't use the built in flash. Flash offset and tilt can be a little stiff at first.
